Commuting

We did some listening on the topic of commuting and here were some of the key phrases you may have learned:

1. It takes me
私は学校行くのは２時間かかる　- It takes me 2 hours to get to school
彼は仕事行くのは３０分かかる - It takes him 30 minutes to get to work.

How long does it take you to go to English Garden?
How long does it take you to go to work?
How long does it take most people to commute to work?

2. It's such a:
時間の無駄だ - It's a waste of time
なんて時間のむだだ - It's such a waste of time

テリーは最悪な彼氏です - Terry is a terrible boyfriend
テリーはなんて最悪な彼氏だ　- Terry is such a terrible boyfriend

How do you say:
超面倒くさい
超悔しい
超偶然

3. What can you do?
What can you do? どうしようもない。
（気をつけて,「どうしようもない」って言いたい時に主語は必ず"you"です）

A - Do you like cooking?
B - No, it's such a hassle. But what can you do?

What can I do? 私が何が出来るの？

A - I'm so hungry.
B - ... So? What can I do?
A - You can bring a lunch box for me everyday!


4. I wish...

I wish I lived closer to school.　
学校ともっと近く住めばいいな...

I wish I was more mature.
もっと大人だったらいいのに...

Is there something that you wish for? More money? A better life?
